BABAJIDE OGUNDIPE TO DELIVER PAPERS AT THE 8TH ANNUAL ANTI-CORRUPTION CONFERENCE OF THE INTERNATIONAL BAR ASSOCIATION AND THE 13TH TRANSNATIONAL CRIME CONFERENCE.

Sofunde, Osakwe, Ogundipe & Belgore Partner Babajide Ogundipe is scheduled to discuss the theme "REGIONAL DEVELOPMENTS" on Wednesday 21 April 2010 at the 8th Annual Anti-Corruption Conference of the International Bar Association at the Marriott Prague, Czech Republic. He speaks on the topic "HUMAN RIGHTS COURTS: HOW EFFECTIVE ARE THEY IN PROTECTING OR ENHANCING RIGHTS IN DOMESTIC JURISDICTIONS" at the 13th Transnational Crime Conference on Saturday 5 June 2010 at the Hotel Lutetia, Paris France.

BABAJIDE OGUNDIPE APPOINTED I.B.A VICE CHAIRMAN REPRESENTING AFRICAN REGION

Sofunde, Osakwe, Ogundipe & Belgore partner Babajide Ogundipe has been appointed Vice-Chairman, representing the African region, of the International Bar Associations Anti-Corruption Committee. This Committee, with members from all parts of the globe, plans to implement a series of activities that will capture the pace and complexity of this fast-developing area of the law.

The advent of the OECD, OAS, UN and AU anti-corruption conventions has brought about the enactment of new anti-corruption laws in scores of countries. Aggressive enforcement, including extraterritorial enforcement, of national laws and a wide range of anti-corruption initiatives have brought this issue to the forefront worldwide. More and more private practitioners are having to advise on anti-corruption issues and investigations, as in-house counsel seek to devise creative new compliance programmes.
